So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then, you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life. [see The MESSAGE Bible]
Praying for One Another
Request #1 – for parenting co-workers who seek to provide firm guidance [Proverbs 22:6, 15] for their disobedient, rebellious teenage son so that in the military academy he will acquire the discipline he needs
Requests #2 and #3
– for her friend whose fiance was killed in a car accident that God will hear her groans [Romans 8:26
] and that he will empower her to be closer than a sibling to her friend [Proverbs 18:24
for herself in this period of transition, that she will make the right decision, being led in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake
Request #4 and #5
– for all persons involved in the “schooling” process to have the promise of Proverbs 3:5-6
and the covering of Proverbs 1:33
for their safety in the face of school violence.
Stay lifted up!
In My Ear –“What pain, what LABOR to secure my soul from endless death.”
Father, I stretch my hands to thee, no other help I know;
If thou withdraw thyself from me, Ah! whither shall I go?
What did thine only Son endure before I drew my breath!
What pain, what labor, to secure my soul from endless death!
Author of faith, to thee I lift my weary, longing eyes;
O let me now receive that gift, my soul without it dies!
Segue – Freedom (from the power of sin; the ability to deny oneself in the interest
of pleasing God and glorifying God) is free but not cheap.
In My Spirit – Scriptures for us to contemplate as we prepare to enjoy Labor Day
The Scripture (Word of God) says: God has given us all things richly
to enjoy. 1 Timothy 6:17
and it also says
Lean not to your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge
Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
and it says
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these
things will be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

to thee whose blood can cleanse each spot

fightings and fears, within without
– poor, wretched, blind, sight, riches, healing of the mind
yea, all I need, in thee I find

because thy promise I believe
O Lamb of God – I come ! I come!
